What’s the latest on the Kinder Morgan Trans-Mountain Pipeline expansion project? What options do we on the west coast have left now that Prime Minister Trudeau and Premier Clark have approved construction? Or is it a fait-accompli that seven-times as many oil tankers will rumble past our coastline, boosting the very real odds of a potentially devastating crude bitumen spill?

For an update and map of the process ahead, the Sooke team of Dogwood BC will host an info night on Wed., March 15 at the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Guest speakers will be former federal Environment Minister David Anderson and Dogwood’s founder and current Director of Strategy Will Horter. The evening gets underway at 7 p.m. Admission is free or by small donation at the door.

Once the presentation and Q&A is complete, Sooke team leader Gail Armitage and Dogwood Communications Coordinator Charles Campbell will explain how the organization intends to leverage the 264,000 pledges collected in its Let BC Vote campaign into an urgent new Citizen’s Initiative set to launch this fall pending the results of the BC election in May.
